If you have been playing Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled, you will know that there is a pretty big roster of characters to play as.
However, some players might not even know that there is one extra character that you can unlock with a cheat code. The adorable Penta Penguin is the secret character I’m talking about.
But just who is this character I hear you ask? Until the release of this game in June 2019 I had no idea he even existed.
How to Unlock Penta Penguin
To unlock Penta Penguin enter the following code from the main menu: Hold L1 + R1. Then press Down, Right, Triangle, Down, Left, Triangle, Up. You will hear a confirmation sound to let you know this was entered correctly.
Long time fans of the Crash Team Racing series will know intimately how to unlock Penta Penguin via the required cheat code as the cheat code is exactly the same. A clever touch from the game’s developers.

Who is Penta Pengiun?
Essentially the character of Penta was based on the cute penguins in Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes back.
Remember those guys that stroll from one side of the screen to another before spinning? Yeah those guys.

What are the benefits of Penta Penguin?
Penta in Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled is a speed class character.
This makes him a great choice for powering through time trials in particular.
Additionally, he is just super adorable and the skins you can unlock for him are excellent.
Why would you race as Penta as opposed to another speed class racer like Tiny Tiger
This is a pretty good question to ask. You might enjoy speed class racers and want to know why choose Penta Penguin over Tiny Tiger.
The answer is pretty simple but basically Penta is a much smaller character compared to Tiny Tiger so you might encounter less visibility issues during your races.
This might not make much of a difference but if you’re hunting down the Time Trails it is something useful to know.
Will unlocking Penta Penguin affect my trophies?
In short no, unlocking Penta using this method will not affect your ability to earn trophies in any way.
Now you have no excuse to unlock this character and get racing.
